A lot of this would depend on the liquor laws where you are. There's probably a maximum amount of booze that can be served per drink -- no kidding. Here, I think, you can't go over three ounces.

Re. Long Island iced tea: in many places, that's just a single shot of a swill pre-mixed Long Island booze (with Coke).

The strongest palatable thing I know of involves a shot of vodka, a shot of tequila, and a shot of Midori or similar melon liqueur, with orange juice and a bit of lime juice or cordial. Sold as a "cactus cooler" here, though I note that's a soft drink to some people, and an entirely different sort of cocktail in other places.

The most likely thing, if you don't want to fuss with asking for the recipe above, will be something simple -- rye and ginger, rum and coke, etc -- ask for "a triple, in a tall glass."

Well there is the obvious answer... straight alcohol. Some SoCo on the rocks with a twist of lime is awesome. Sweet, strong, tasty... it is like its own mixer. If that does not rock your boat, try either a Long Island Iced Tea, Black Russian, or a dirty Martini. All are drinks of choice for me.

Long Island: Equal parts of Vodka, Gin, Light Rum, Tequila. Half shot of Triple Sec, two shots of Sour Mix. Shake and pour into a glass. Splash of coke, mix, garnish with lemon, lime or orange. There are variations that incorporate liqueurs such as raspberry which are very tasty.

Black Russian: Simiple as can be... vodka and Kahlua (sp?). Very strong, very good. Use good vodka or it will taste horrible.

Dirty Martini: Vodka 3 parts, Dry Vermouth 2 parts, olive juice and olive. Shake and pour into chilled glass. Again, use good vodka or it will be terrible. And remember, if it is not a dirty or dry martini... it is not a martini. It is weak and only a mixed drink in a martini glass (ie Chocolate, lemon, apple, etc... weak and too sweet).

Have fun!

Have you ever had a Rusty Nail? It's just scotch (go with the cheap stuff for this drink) and Drambuie, and it's one of my very favorite mixed drinks. I like it dry (not too much Dambuie) and with a twist, although the twist isn't traditional.

The downside is that you usually have to teach bartenders how to make it, but then you get cool points for ordering a great and obscure drink.

a long island iced tea is pretty good - it has vodka, gin, rum, tequila and triple sec but it's only measured out to 2 or 2 1/2 shots of booze per glass.

a zombie has 3 kinds of rum in it and at 3 oz of liquor per glass it's the strongest 'bar made' coktail that i know of

Long Island Iced Tea has 1 shot of every white liquor in it. Tequila, rum, vodka, and gin, plus triple sec, sweet and sour and Coke. They'll stomp ya into the ground if you're not careful.

Besides the ever popular uuugghh long island tea, if I need to get wasted I either drink ouzo straight or if I need something turbo charged I get a flaming Dr Pepper! Amaretto top with 151 rum light and drop in a stein of beer! YUM, and it does taste like DP!
