This does not apply to your relationship with God, but it does apply to Christian's relationship with others.
You can be so Heavenly minded that you are no earthly good to anyone.

Yes. If you are consummed with the actual relationship with God, you're not doing works to praise him, it defeats the purpose of your praise.
Faith Without Works is Dead - JAMES 2:14-26
God doesn't want you to spend your whole day just praising Him and loving Him, He want you to produce - not just children, but works and acts. He wants you to live life, just live by His rules. He didn't give you life for you to not live it.

A lot of Christians state they are just "temporary residents" on this earth and they are storing all of their treasures into their heavenly hope. I think this is a good hope, but I also think there should be some balance while here on earth. I think they should enjoy there time here, and not spend every waking moment being "preachy teachy".

Well since I am a piece of God (and a mighty fine piece I should add) I can't get away from Him/It. God is not outside of us.

Yes. If you have a good relationship with anyone you know it without always bringing it up. If you must constantly talk about it you don't really believe what you are claiming.

Yes, it does. Eating too much beef steak is not good to your digestion. Dressing too much you feel too hot.
