Truthfully, noone can give an answer to this question, first of all you did not specify whether the gift would be for a male or a female & it's always better to get something that is personal to the person, plus you haven't actually said it's for your partner, it might actually for all we know be for a couple you know. If it is for a female perhaps a nice bit of jewellery (if you are not married or engaged - do not get a ring unless you intend on proposing as this can lead the female to thinking you are going to pop the question and can be quite upsetting when you dont). If the gift is for a male then perhaps a watch which is engraved with a message on the back. For a couple - the first wedding anniversary is meant to be paper so perhaps get them vouchers as a gift. you didn't mention if you are buying for a guy or a girl, but for the first year for a woman something for her to wear when you take her out to a fancy dinner to celebrate is very nice. If it's for a him - tickets to a local sporting event/concert, etc. and suggesting he go with one of his guy friends will get you plenty of rewards both when you give him the gift and when he gets home from the event. I guess it really depends on the guy and how serious the relationship is. If its leading toward a pretty serious relationship you may want to get something that signifies that. Otherwise any gift that guys are interested should suffice. Usually anything electronics or with cars or sports should work.

well its paper for first anniversary so perhaps you could come up with some ideas involving paper....how about photo album to celebrate first year or scapbook put together detailing events and occasions of your first year....anything that shows you have put time effort and thought really....and if your not romantic and more practical money is always good.
