Actually no. Allah was never a name given for the God of Israel throughout the Old Testament. Allah, in fact, was the name of the moon god, one of about 300 worshipped by the indigenous tribes of Arabia. When Mohammed entered Mecca and took power, he kept Allah (the moon god) and dedicated the Kaaba to worshipping that one God. This is why, to this day, the crescent moon is the symbol of Islam.
Jews and Christians don't recognize "Allah" as the same as "Jehovah." Mohammed originally expected the "People of the Book" to rally behind him, as reflected in his early writings in the Koran. But when Jews and Christians rejected him as a "False Prophet" (one of the few things they agreed upon back then) the writings turned hostile and violent.

Yep... and also of the Jews. However, Jesus was referred to in many Jewish texts as a "false prophet", as he did NOT fulfull the requirements of a prophet, as foretold by Maimonedes and others.
One site, below, does discuss this and contradictory views, in great detail:
"Historically Judaism has seen Messiah as a human being of Jewish decent from the lineage of King David. Messiah is an instrument of G-d Himself and is used by HaShem to bring about world peace and lead the world in Torah based goverment. A word that surrounds Messiah is redemption. There are many aspects to this concept, but the main point is Messiah will deal with the problem of evil (sin) and justice and righteousness will be the outcome. Some of the clear signs of Messiah is that He will gather Jewish people from around the world and return them to the land of Israel. Because Messiah's rule will be based on the Torah, the Temple must be present. The prophet Zechariah says that Messiah will build the Temple (Zech. 6:12-13).
Although this paragraph represents only a fraction of thoughts concerning Messiah, it does summarize the standard view of Messiah among the Rabbis today. Such a view does not differ significantly from the view Israel's leaders had two thousand years ago."
This debate will go on as long as people keep believing in some kind of god. For me, it's merely a subject of historical interest.

Mike Oxmaul- The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is Allah's best creation, He had the privilege of bringing the Quran and completing Islam. If a Muslims obeys and does the examples of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) he/she will be rewarded.

For Jesus to be just a prophet, doesn't make sense when you factor in Christ being sinless, born of a virgin (His earthly mother Mary) Him dying for the sin of mankind and being cruicified, then all that He spoke of and prophisied concerning His death (and how he was going to die) and resurrection (on the 3rd day)...then being seen by many (disciples and nearly 500 people)....Which no other man has done..... The only possible explanation for all of this is that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, and the Son of God.....

My counter claim: Did you know that Mohomed was a prophet of deceiption?
Suras 6:34, 6:115, 10:64 and 50:28,29 clearly says to Muslims, "No change can there be in the words of Allah" and that Allah cannot alter (or abrogate) his words." So the Torah and Christian Gospels are correct, because Allah did verify this fact -- this clearly makes the Muslim Qur'an false; because it contradicts Allah.

Yes, that is true for the Muslims. Jesus, or Is’a (PBUH) as we call him, is a prophet. For us, Allah cannot have a son, daughter, wife, mother, etc., so Is'a is a prophet. On the other hand, in the view of the Christians, he is the son of God.

Unfortunately you have a book (the qur'an) that was written & inspired by a man, no special man, just a man who is just as wicked, fallible and finite as you & me.
The real Book, with the real truth is the Bible. And it was written by and inspired by the God of the universe. He was, is and always will be the only true God, and the one you need.
Look to Him in Faith alone and you can know real joy.

In Muslim point of view that is acceptable. But Christian thinks it is degrading. Pointing out a Quran verse will only be countered with Bible verse that says otherwise.

You have been mis-lead. ((Your information is incorrect.))
To know Jesus of Nazareth, His life and ministry, you might consider reading the Holy Bible (New Testament.) The gospels of Matthew, Mark and John were written by those who knew Him, walked with Him, watched Him heal the sick, blind and raise the dead. They know...they watched Him, listened to Him and walked with Him.
I believe them since they were there.
Consider reading the true authority on Jesus Christ.
Through Jesus Christ, you will find grace and you won't have to fear for your salvation. You will find that His grace is sufficient and not works.
Jesus wants a personal relationship with you. He's seeking you for a personal relationship. How incredible is that? WOW!
But don't take my word on it...take His. It's in the Holy Bible

Allah is the Arabic word for God. The Allah of the Muslim faith is a false God. Muhammad went against the teachings of God and the prophets. Abraham worshiped a righteous God who called for atonement for sin. The Muslim god Allah is not the god of Abraham. Abraham taught that the lord would provide himself a lamb and that lamb was God in the flesh Jesus Christ who atoned for the sins of all who accept this atonement.
