Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't send any money out of U.S. for a pet,you will never get the pet and loose your money.Take it from me,this is a scam, big time.If anything ever sounds to good to be true ,it usually is.I was scammed on three occasions last year, but was from someone in U.S.and never got the pup ,or my money back from one of them.It is a good idea before you send money for any pet even from a breeder, always check out their references from past purchasers, check out their vet,and always make the contacts by calling each reference and ask questions.Any reputable breeder should be able to give you several references and their vet's # and if they come up with any excuse, don't buy from them. You can also go to some sites and check out the SCAM list they have,as most sites will have the name and e-mail address of each scammers. You may find some on
http://www.scambusters.com I repeat"Don't purchase ,or send money to this scammer".

Have you actually spoken to these people on the phone? I would be worried that this is just a scam ad. The dog is "free" but you have to send money to ship. You also have to consider if there is needing to be a quarintine time for the dog too. Many countries require this to prevent the spread of disease into other countries. I think this can be 2 months to 6 months depending. It possibly could be legit, but then again, why have they not found a suitable family on the base they are supposedly stationed at instead of putting a dog thru such an ordeal as shipping to the US? This would send up some red flags.

I don't know how it exactly works, but there are ways to have money held (ebay does this for car sales for shipments). Certain companies offer this for a fee. You deposit the money, the person who is supposed to receive it is notified of it's deposit. Then, once you receive what they are supposed to be shipping, you then release the money to be deposited to them. Don't know if there are price ranges for this kind of thing either.

I'd be interested to view their listing actually.

I think you'd be better off finding a puppy right in your own country. Why would you subject a puppy to a flight all the way from Africa? First, it's a very long flight. Secondly, going to be an expensive trip. Thirdly, if this puppy is in Africa right now, do you know (or do they) what that puppy needs to be allowed into the country?

There's yorkies all over the place looking for homes - why not adopt one of them and save yourself all the worry?

There are a LOT of scams running now with ads claiming to have African dogs available for "nothing". DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY.

And even if this is a "real deal" -- we're 99% sure it is not -- you can't bring a dog from Africa without going through Customs and a quarantine period -- which will cost you more.

I agree with the above answers, you would be better adopting one from a rescue center or humane society.
But if you want to try to get this one from Africa I would insist on sending reinbursment after the puppy arrives. That way, they can't pull any funny buisness and they'll make sure that the puppy gets to you.

I would NOT consider this. There have been numerous cases of animals dying on airplanes due to temperature and handling conditions. I would not take this chance just because of that alone, not even considering the money you may or may not lose. I am sure they would not refund your money if the puppy died in transit either. I am sure you can find another method to obtaining a puppy.

No, By all means do not get the puppy, I'm sure you can find another Yorkie closer to where you live. What state or country are you in? if you are in the US it will probably get quarantined if the US even allows it

That is a scam!!! Several people have been taken already.

Never buy a pet from the internet.

Check petfinders. Here are pages and pages of yorkies looking for homes.

I'd be wary of just sending money to someone you dont' know Our beaglepoo, Micah, was shipped from OK and we live in PA and he HATES the car. I'm not sure if it's because he was shipped or what.
