There is a hopper at the bottom of the collection mechanism that houses the collected coins. Toll booth workers empty these out at regular intervals during the day. There is no central deposit area.

Stays in a catch can at the drop. Is emptied once or twice a day depending on how busy the booth is.

into the pocket of the troll that owns the road..they used to be called "Troll Roads" but they changed that back in the 50's when the great troll eradication movement came into effect and supposedly drove the trolls into extinction but you and I both know that trolls are indeed NOT extinct

On our local expressway there is a stairway entry in front of each collection machine. I don't know if they interconnect but I have thought about it myself!
