There is no safe time, one step onto the hot surface can burn your cat's pads. Just like if you were to step onto that hot tin roof, your feet could instantly be burned. I hope this question was joke, and you don't seriously make your cat stay on a hot tin roof . . . if so you don't deserve to have pets.

Hey I have and idea why don't we put YOU on a hot tin roof and see how long you can stay on it then divide that by 2 multiply that by 5 and subtract 12 then you will have the answer!!

I would much rather be the cat out of water for, although I will lack the opportunity to hunt the fish in the water, I will have a much better chance of eating the fish on the hot tin roof
