Lately I really have not wanted to and I've had to press past these feelings in order to do devotion and read the Bible.

Do you know what I find helpful? Remembering that our lives do not necessarily have to be divided up into "secular" and "sacred" things. Everything we do can be an act of worship to the Lord. Whether it be washing the dishes, typing a report, cleaning a bathroom ... whatever ... doing it with the motivation being an act of worship, doing it for the love of God (not to *get* His love [you already have it] but rather *because* of it, in celebration of it) can transform the mundane to into the maaahvelous. I even noticed that I had more energy physically at the end of the days where I focused on doing everything for the love of God. It's almost as though He blesses the motivation for doing things when it's done expressly for Him as opposed to doing them simply because we "hafta". :)

I find the worshipping part easy enough, but after my morning prayers, I slack off the rest of the day until my prayers at night. I am guilty of this and it bothers me. I think of God through the day, but I must confess, the only time I think of devotion is twice on Sunday and once on Wednesday. I am very lax for the rest of the time, and it really bothers me at times. God bless

If you are overwhelmed by daily responsabilities... you will just have to set time and find a place that you can close out the world from and just go and hide there. do not let any thing desturb you no matter what... and spend the time you need... if you have to find a mountain to climb and hide in a cave... then do it... be alone with God... litteraly...if you have to just gointo a closet and bar the door... do it... and do not come out untill you want to or untill God tells you to... if you have to ...then go to the extream... But... first... try just getting up a few min early and using the time when no one else is up... or wait till all are in bed and use that time... what ever your circumstances you can find a time and place... but you do need to be alone with God... just you and God with the world locked out... some how, some place... my prayers are for you to find your time and place with God

here is a direct link to a page on my website about prayer... might help... could'nt hurt...

I believe that Jesus is more interested in our learning to be honest with ourselves instead of performing rituals for the ritual' s sake.

For me, worshiping God can take place anywhere and any time. Bible study is some what like eating - if you are hungry - eat. If not, don't.

Ephesians 6:18
Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's consecrated people).

After all, is it you who is earning your place in eternity or Jesus who chose you and will get you there?

Boy do I feel your pain. There are some days I have to drag myself to church.

I find putting on some really upbeat worship music helps the most. Puts me in a better mood.

Some times when I am most fatigued, I just sit in His presense. Quietly, I listen...

Yes. I used to keep the liturgy of the hours. It is tough to get back into the discipline of it, if you don't keep it up.

I know EXACTELY what you mean. Only thing we can do is continue our devotions.

I find it very hard to worship things that don't exist.
