A bruise is actually ruptured blood vessels. The blood spills out into the cavities around the vessels and can't escape. So what you've got is basically a blood-balloon. Eventually the vessels return to normal and the spilled blood is absorbed back into the system.

On head wounds, this is why a big "egg" on a kids head is a good thing. If someone hits their head and there's no swelling, it's a problem because it means the swelling is internal and likely putting pressure on the brain.

When a bruise bulges out it is because of the blood clotted under the surface of the skin. When a bruise is bad it is called a hematoma. (Those nice deep purple ones) But no fear, they just take a little longer for your body to absorb the blood, Sometimes up to a month or so pending on trauma.

A bruise is cause by blood in the tissue. It bumps up becuase the blood goes in there and can't immediately escape, so it fills to a point and then pushes out on the skin until it can no more.

If it bulges out, it's a hematoma. If it stays flat it's just a bruise. A hematoma is just a very intense bruise, but not all bruises are hematomas. Take care of it just like a normal bruise.

When you get a bruise, tiny blood vessels under the skin are broken, and blood collects there. That's why it swells and why it turns interesting colors as it heals.

i believe that bruises buldg out because when you are bruised their is a signal sent to the brain telling blood to rush to that area to help heal. this would mean that the area would puff out and feel as if it were swolen. bu tdont feel worried it will soon decrease in size as time passes. also certain medications such as ointments help them not to buldge out so much.

Because it is filled with blood and gunk from your body trying to repair what you did to it. You can drain it if you want to make it go away sooner.
