Not being someone to do things by halves, I completely shaved my damaged hair off today. I don't have the thinnest face ever, so you can imagine that it makes me look rather fat. I'm not very happy with this.

But, does anyone find this attractive, or thing that I will look ok? And how long will it take to grow to a decent length (it was shoulder length before).

I am also worried that it will stick up as it is growing back and that it will look terrible when it reaches the 'in between length' (ie a couple of inches long). Will it still stick up when it reaches this length?

This will teach me to look after my hair in future.

Just to add that I am completely bald now

Please don't suggest that I wear a wig. Although I presume that this means you think I will look terrible bald?

My grandma lost her hair to chemo just 4 months ago. She is not the thinnest person in the world either, with a kind of square face. But she looked absolutely beautiful while she was bald. She said she might as well make the effort to draw SOME attention away from her bald head, so she wore glamorous make-up (done up to the nines, she called it), and fluttery scarves around her neck. Nothiing covering her bald head though.

And when her hair started growing back in, it looked and felt like velvet for the first month. And then by the end of the second month, she just looked like she got her hair cut that way (it was about an inch long by then). Now her hair is over 2 inches long, and she's threatening to shave it all off again! But her hair never stuck out straight and prickly like a hedgehog (although I've been threatening to gel it now to make her look like one).

It depends. If you have delicate, feminine features with no protruding ears or nose, you could certainly pull it off. A nicely shaped head and good skin tone are a plus.

I don't know how badly damaged your hair was, but it sounds like it has been processed way too much. Perhaps shaving it all off and starting over may have been the best way to go.

Just enjoy how carefree it will be for a while. No having to fool with hair care for a little while. Just shower and go. And hold your head high. Don't look sad or sour when you are around other people. They will sense that you are not comfortable with your current appearance. If you don't want to go the wig route, there's no reason you can't wear a hat or a scarf when going out.

You're not the only girl trying out the shaved look. Check out these websites:

Good luck with the grow-out! It'll be OK!

Some of these people failed math. Hair grows an average of half an inch per month. That's about six inches per year. However, the rate of growth is probably slightly different for you: slower or faster in comparison with the average. I'd recommend reading an article on human hair growth for more detail. If you have the urge to shave your head totally bald, I'd encourage you to try it. I'm a guy with a full head of thick hair, but sometimes in the summer I take a razor to it and shave it clean just because it feels awesome. I'd hate to think I lived my life and never tried something so simple. Also, if if I had a female friend with the guts to take a razor to her head, it would just make me think she's awesome.

I have had a shaved head by choice and though female and straight, I think women with short, buzzed and shaved heads are often very attractive. I'm sure you look fine.

I will stick up until its about 1-2 inches, but if you have super curly hair, you'll end up with a mini fro. But there are LOTS of products you can buy to change that and get you hair manageable and not stuck up/bed head looking

My suggestion as being someone who's been there and done that is to see a stylist every inch or so and ask them to trim the hair and give you a way to wear it as well as products to help you manage the hair until it gets long.

Hair grows about half an inch a month,so you will have an inch of hair in two months. If it does stick up just work with it,use hair wax or gel and make it spike up. Every month you will have a new look,by the time it is two inches long you can do a pixie style. Try not to worry about it to much. It will grow back. I've done stuff to my hair that I completely regretted too. I'm sure allot of women have. Your not alone. Good luck

Aww.. I've met girls that have done this before! Think Demi Moore in G.I. Jane.. she looked hot! The prettiest thing a girl can wear is a smile and confidence. If you walk around moping because you miss your hair, people will feel bad for you, but if you walk around knowing you had the ... gonads... to shave your hair off and be okay with it.. you'll look hot. It probably will be akward in that "in-between" stage, but you'll find what works for you. You can use a product like Bed Head Manipulator and just mess up all your hair.. that will look sexy.. If you're worried about the shape of your face, wear appropriate necklines on your shirts to flatter your face the most and accentuate your cheekbones with blush. And yes, from now on, take more care for your hair. Regular scalp massage will help blood circulation, which in turn will make your hair grow faster and healthier. Also, invest in quality hair products. Your stylist can help you determine your needs. Good luck!!

It is not about the length of the hair, it is how you "wear it:". Be confident and wear clothes that match your new style. Your hair will regrow sooner than you think and enjoy the shortnes while you have it. I had my hair really really short and i loved it and i regreted growing it long (too late now to go back to short), but short days were cool cause you could get ready in a jiff and not worry about taking hours to finx your hair and curl and straighten, etc

There are many methods to make our hair grow faster, shine , glitter in natural ways without using chemicals. Learn here https://bitly.im/aL9Nn Men, and sometimes women, notice that their hair is thinning prematurely for several different reasons. Age, menopause, pregnancy, genetics, illness, and other factors all play a role in hair loss. Sure, you can use drugs or you can go in for a hair transplant or fusion, but sometimes the easiest, most inexpensive solution, is to try to stop hair loss naturally.

It's all merely a matter of personal preference. We have short hair and guys just like it. And i prefer a guy with short hair over a person with long hair because long tresses tends to make guys look also girly.

Natalie Portman looked very sexy with no hair in V for Vendetta but i dont think all girls can get away with it. Im thinking that you might need a very femanine face in order to pull it off with strong features.
Not something i would outright look for in a girl but if one could pull it off than one can only imagine how good someone would look with hair. And again, it grows back...
And yes, it will stick up.. but thats probably not what you wanted to hear..
