Why did he go thru all the trouble of fulfilling prophecies and doing miracles to prove that he is the Messiah, yet now, he doesn't have any lasting proof?

Back in the 1400's Leonardo DiVinci proved that gravity is a consent force on all objects by dropping two different weight balls off of a tower. Once proven, there was no need for each new generation to go back and try to rediscover his proof. They can go back and re-read his proof, and maybe recreate his experiment. It was proven.

By coming as He did in fulfillment of prophecy, Jesus provided all the proof anyone should ever need of his identity. Go re-read Psalms 22 sometime. We have manuscripts shown that this Psalm was in existence at least 250 to 400 years before the birth of Jesus. )Most scholars place it 1000 years before the birth of Jesus, but because of the perishable nature of the ancient manuscripts, we have no known surviving copies from that far back.)

Compare Psalms 22 to the events recorded on the cross when Jesus died. His words are recorded. The fact that they would crucify him by piercing his hands and feet - before the Romans introduced crucifixion around 50BC. The fact that soilders would gamble for his garments, or pierce his side with a spear. (If He was a fake, He could control His own actions and words - but how did He get His enemies to do those things?). All should be proof of the believablity of the Bible.

Re-read Matthew, and his listing of over 90 prophecies that Jesus fulfilled in his lifetime. Again, many of the things like the place of his birth or his family line, were things He could not have controlled. It had to be the hand of God.

So how many times does he have to prove it? Its all recorded there for anyone who want to take the time to study it out. Just like the records of DiVinci's experiment.

People today are still duplicating DiVinci's experiment with the same results. They can prove it to themselves if they do not trust his records. The same is true for Christianity today. Anyone who wants can decide to make a committment of their life to Christ, and they will be changed by it. Happened to me, and happens everyday to thousands worldwide. What more proof do you need?

Jesus lived, was crucified, died and rose from the dead more than 2000 years ago; and you state that He doesn't have any lasting proof? Even you state that he "fullfilled prophecies and did miracles" although I'm sure your were being facicious. But the fact that you know about the claims lets me know that at least you are aware of His claims and those things claimed about Him. Seems pretty lasting to me.

You remind me of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man, as he was suffering in hell, asked Abraham to send Lazarus from paradise back to the rich man's relatives to warn them that there is a hell and to change their ways.

Abraham's response was this: "They have the prophets and the scriptures. If they do not believe them they will not believe even if someone should return from the dead." Abraham, of course, was correct, because Jesus Christ rose from the dead and you still do not believe. Is it possible that Abraham was speaking about you?

But you don't have to believe. That is your freedom. But don't be foolish, you will not escape the fruit of your choices.

The proof is in the soul of he or she who seeks him.

That is, while Jesus was in the flesh, he performed miracles visible to the many. Now that Jesus has returned to Spirit, the miracles he performs are individualized, quiet, and not visible to any except those who are looking for them.

If you seek salvation through Christ, your life will become a miracle. If you choose not to seek--but instead look for outward signs--you will continue standing on the periphery, asking for evidence that you will not find.

'Twould be a great pity to refuse to seek mercy from God based on what your eyes alone are able to perceive.

Jesus is not (and never was) God.
He is a creation of God and God loves him so much He looks upon him as a son.
Jesus is up to quite a bit these days.
Perhaps you just aren't seeing what is happening.
You will now express doubts and terms like 'oh yeah' will come to mind .....just like some thought in Jesus' day.
Do you see Matthew 24:14 benig fulfilled?
Who is knocking on your door with that theme?

The fact that we are here and doing what we are doing and living in the world we live in is proof enough isn't it? Do you think it all just happened? I believe proof of God is all around us all the time we just take it for granted.

Jesus did what His Father bade him do. There is written record of it called the Holy Bible. There is no reason for Him to have to prove anything. He has already done it. Read and STUDY the bible. God bless

Nowhere in the messianic prophesies does it imply that the Messiah will be God. This concept was a later addition used to appeal to pagan converts.

Further, Jesus did not fulfill any of the messianic prophesies...he was, at best, a failed messiah.

Jesus was a Kabbalist Jew, and never claimed to be the direct son of God, never mind God himself. Kabbalists believe that each and every living person carries a little of the divine within them, and that we are all the children of God.

Jesus rebuked those who called him Lord. ON HIS OWN IDENTITY Jesus' statements throughout the Bible suggest that any idea of exalting him to divinity was unthinkable. In Matthew's gospel, Jesus denounces in the strongest terms those who exalt him by calling him `Lord': "None of those who cry out, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of God but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. When the day comes, many will plead with me, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? Have we not exorcised demons by its power? Did we not do many miracles in your name as well?' Then I will declare to them solemnly, `I never knew you. Out of my sight, you evil doers!' "
