Even if you ate the "perfect" diet (and who does?), you are still not going to get the vitamins and minerals you need for optimal health.
1. The soil in most parts of America has become seriously depleted in nutrients due to over-farming and not rotating the crops. There are numerous studies you can find on the Internet that demonstrate this by measuring the nutrients in produce today and comparing to decades earlier. They all show a decline in the nutrient content.
2. Produce has to be picked green in order to ship it around the country. The nutrients in any produce doesn't get generated unlessl the product is ripened ON THE VINE. Even if it is ripened on the vine (which isn't common), there is only a small window of time when produce is ripe. Once it passes it's peak, the nutrients start to degrade. So unless you are buying ALL your produce at a local farmer's market and eating it within a few days, you are not getting the nutrients you think you are getting.
3. Cooking, freezing, processing, and storage degrades the nutrients in food.
The approach you need to take with food is to NOT eat something bad for you, i.e., putting something unhealthy into your body, but realize that you are not getting the nutrition you need even from the ideal diet.

It is always good to take a vitamin/supp.
Most of us are busy and aren't thinking about what we eat. Unless you have nothing else to do besides monitor your food intake, then a supplement is right for you. Make sure you discuss it with your Dr. first though. Some people process vitamins/minerals differently. You do not want to take to much of anything.

If your body can not pull vitamins or minerals adequately from your diet; be it because the food lacks these items or genetics, then vitamins and/or mineral supplements are needed.
Your body needs specific items to properly function, and when the body does not get what it needs, there are "breakdowns" of sort - your body will show you areas of stress.
Example: If you have bleeding, sore gums, losing gum tissue, it may be because your body can not get adequate vitamin C.
Check with a nutritionist, or just begin with a multivitamin if you notice some areas of your health that have changed.

If you are not pregnant try taking a whole food supplement. They work a lot better then the vitamin supplements. Anyway, its good to take a supplement, because foods don't hold a much food value like they used to.

Have a bonfire on your garden. It's a amusing, informal party to only calm down and feature amusing! -Roast marshmellows/scorching puppies -Play video games akin to disguise and search, kick the can, and so on. Have a spa social gathering. That's what I did for my twelfth b-day social gathering and it used to be a blast! It used to be all selfmade and did not price plenty. If you desire you would even get manicures. For my sister's birthday she had a pool social gathering, that is consistently amusing with summer season. Another concept might be going to look a film, play or whatever and going out to dinner. HAPPY twelfth BIRTHDAY! Enjoy your social gathering! :)

We don't always eat the way that we should and therefore don't get all of the nutrients that we need. Too many additives and preservatives in our diet.
