Well, the Mormons no longer do that in general. There may be sects of Mormonism that still allow it, but the main church revoked that a looong time ago. And it has more to do with how the denomination views that. How mainstream Christianity can say it's sinful to have more than one wife, yet the Bible uphold King David (who was a man after God's own heart) or Solomon (who was the Wisest man in the world) and Abraham, who was a faithful servant of God, who took a concubine at the request of Sarah in order to get a child....
Mostly like what the deal is, is that society changes and they tried to change with it on that level.

I'm not Mormon but I do know the Mormon Church prohibited polygamy years ago. A rather small offshoot of the mainstream church, known as Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints still thinks lots of wives are okay. They have been in the news a lot lately. I believe the leaders name is Warren Jeffs or something like that.

No I don't believe it is unfair. Each religion has its own truth claims (a posh word for beliefs Lol :)). The truth claims of Mormonism are not compatible with those of Catholicism. This is why there is so much disagreement concerning religion. According to Aristotle's law of non-contradiction two contradictory things cannot both be true at the same time and in the same way.

Actually, that is not true. It has been a great number of years since the prophet of the Latter Day Saints told the original church that they were no longer to have multiple wives as long as it was a crime in this country to do so.
So, when you see someone who says he is Mormon and has more than one wife, they are not telling the truth, since the church has renounced that. It's is just a jerk who wants more than one wife, and he is rationalizing it by claiming to be a Mormon.

A morman can have 2 wives according to mormonism ....not according to the Bible.
One must choose: mormonism or Bible.
However, mormons don't go to heaven.
Ever read Psalm 37:29?
Its all about life on earth!

Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and trusts him for salvation through his shed blood will be saved. Just because someone believes he is going to heaven doesn't mean he is. It's what those beliefs are based upon that is important.

God judges all. King David and Solomon and Jacob and even ole Father Abraham had more than one wife. It's just hard to afford them!! Really it's not God's ideal since God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Eve and Maybelline. Not Adam and Steve for that matter either.

Neither will go to Heaven nor Hell. They don't exist. And Mormons haven't promoted polygamy ever since the government forced them to renounce it. Muslims, I believe, still have polygamy.
If you want to be polygamous, go for it. I think it would be hard to do, personally. One woman is enough for me.
