Alright, I've been with this guy for like three months, not long at all. But this is the third time we've tried to make a go of it. The first two times i broke up with him and then started seeing him about a year later each time. Hes spectacular to me, and all that, but i want to do all these crazy things like backpack though europe and party, and he's more of a lets go to the book store kinda guy. Thats not bad, but i'm not ready to settle down with that kind of guy. I've been telling him everythings great when its not, how do i break up with him?

I don't want to hurt him and he'll be a great boyfriend for some other girl If i dont scar him for life.

He keeps going back to you because he is scarred. Jeez!!! Let him go, cut off all contact from you and him, then go live your life. But dear god, take pity on his heart and leave before things get more serious in his head when they aren't in yours. Oh, and stop using him emotionally. That's just cruel.

You are going to hurt him either way but at least u cud lessen the hurt by telling him in a calm, loving but straight to the point manner. If he's as caring and nice as you propose he his after a while he will get over the heart break and move on.
i think its good you're making this decision not to lie to him that everything is okay wen its not but think deeply do you really want to break up with him now even after doing all those things adventures u want to embark upon who will u be coming back to.
its ur choice and you know best .

No easy way that I can see. I guess outlining what you want out of life and that he won't be able to do it and that you don't want to hold it against him if you DON'T do it because of him, because you care about him...and if you stayed you would always wonder "what if" etc...and that might sour the relationship and you only get one chance to be "free" etc.... if he really cared, he would let you go. I know it's cliche, but if you love something and set it free...yada yada...he'll may or may not be here when you get back, but THEN, it might work out.

You can't be afraid to hurt his feelings by telling him how you really feel. You're going to scar him more by misleading him. It's just going to be harder for him to trust someone else in the future.

Open and honest. Tell him that you think he is great but you two are just too different.

You have no control over how he takes it.
