Talk to people
Talk to a doctor
Exercise
Take up a new hobby
Get a group of friends
Journal
Medication (last resort!)
Fighting the urge to sit on the couch and get out in the world and do things
Swimming
Walking
Biking
Skiing
Giving yourself a "treat" day (day at the spa or other such wonderful things)
Letting yourself achieve instead of worrying about what others think of you...

Lots of things. My best advice is to get help from the professionals though- don't suffer through 7 years of it before going to see a doctor. I suffered in silence for 7 years with Major depressive disorder. My brain will never work properly, but because I got help, I have a semblance of a normal life.

Good luck... I wish you all the best.

everyone experiences depression to some extent from time to time. for mild depression, the best thing to do is to talk it out.
however, if you suffer from severe depression on a regular, ongoing basis, you should seek professional help. therapy and/or medication might be required to balance the chemicals in your noggin.

Sunlight, activity, interaction with animals and people, help someone, BE someone. Forget the drugs, just use every waking moment DOING and ACHIEVING.
