i ordered a tiffen filter - circular polarizer 55mm for my camera. on my camera it has 45.5mm to 55mm lens adapter. so does it mean that that i can put any 55mm lens on it. never done this before. i am interested in the wide angle lens also. i want to take my daughter's senior pictures. or at least try to. my photographer moved off, thought i'd try it myself before going to check out another photographer. any tips on this. what can i do with my camera to make professional pictures.

I am not familiar with your camera. If it has a 55mm adapter you can probably use the 55mm filter. It should just screw right on the front of the lens.
To me, the major problem with getting professional looking pictures from your camera will be lack of control over depth of field. Consumer digicams use a smallish sensor and a short focal length lens. It is really hard to get selective focus with an 11mm lens! That means almost everything in your photo will be in acceptable focus. Great for landscapes or architecture, but not so great for portraits.
Try to plan your photo shoot for early morning or late afternoon to take advantage of the golden hour lighting. Put your daughter pretty far in front of the background scenery. Stand far enough back so you can zoom in to telephoto, rather than wide angle.
Try using the flash for some. If it bends, bend it! (In other words, don't stand her at attention like a soldier). Take a prop (a book, favorite stuffed animal, flower)
Don't be afraid to shoot LOTS of frames...that's what digital is for.
Good luck to you!
PS The circular polarizer will cut down on the amount of light you get. Watch your shutter speed to make sure it doesn't drop too low for a sharp picture. You probably won't need to use it for a portrait, unless you are planning on including lots of fluffy white clouds or sparkling water.

I don't think you can just put any old lens on your camera. It's probably best to use the lenses that Kodak recommend.
Check out the Kodak Accessories linked below...once there, scroll down till you get to 'Lenses'.
I'm not sure how you can make professional photos....other than getting to know how your camera works and by learning how to use it's manual features like aperture & shutter priority modes etc....and getting plenty of practice.
And make sure you always set your camera up to take photos in the highest resolution...and use a low ISO
