i have downloaded the java files "j2sdk-1_4_2-doc" but where should i paste it anybody knows?

I believe you downloaded the documentation zip file. You can unzip it anywhere you like. After unzipping it, find the index.html file and double-click. That is the "home page" for your local set of API documentation.
