The Bible teaches that upon death, our physical body “sleeps” (term used in relation to death - 1 Corinthians 15:6), but we continue to live. After we die, we immediately know our eternal destinies - our souls are either taken to heaven or hell (that’s decided by what we have done with our faith in Jesus).
For believers, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23). The moment a believer dies, he or she goes into the presence of the Lord. The body may be taken and buried or cremated, but real person goes into the presence of God. But for unbelievers, death means everlasting punishment in Hell (Luke 16:22-23).
The moment we die, we face the judgment of God (Hebrews 9:27). Until the resurrection, though, there is currently a temporary heaven “Paradise” (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 12:4) and Hell “Hades” (Revelation 1:18; 20:13-14). When Christ returns, the bodies of Christians will be resurrected and transformed (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). These eternal bodies are what we will possess for all of eternity, whether we are in heaven or Hell. Those who were in Paradise will be sent to the New Heavens and New Earth (Revelation 21:1). Those who were in Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15). These are the final, eternal destinations of all people - based entirely on whether a person had trusted Jesus Christ alone for the salvation of their sins.

There are different versions that might be easier to read and understand. ((I have trouble with Old English, so I tend to stay away from the King James Version))
Try one of these two sites and a different version (NLT-New Living Translation) is a great translation.

Gal. 5: 19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

Look at the dates the epistles were written. Paul goes through a transformation over time from Jewish to Christian ideals. (The later letters being more in line with what Christ taught, obviously)

Do you mean 'immorTality' and the afterlife? Paul tells us that this body, here on earth, is nothing but a tent (he was a tent maker..used what he knew), to be discarded. And the afterlife, for those who choose Him, we are given an incorruptable body...immortal.

That's because he started out quite the gnostic, but his letters have been edited over the years.

Read in a simpler version (not insulting) that might help.
