Since you're still in puberty, your breasts are continuing to grow into their adult shape and size. This time of growth can cause breast tenderness and sometimes itchiness. You may also have breast discomfort with the hormonal changes that happen during your menstrual cycle.

If you have been sexually active with a member of the opposite sex, there is the risk of pregnancy-and breast tenderness is often an early sign of pregnancy.

If you're not at risk for pregnancy, most likely the breast tenderness is part of the normal growth and maturation process of your breasts.

If you're concerned, want further reassurance, or if there is a chance you may be pregnant, then it's best if you see your family doctor.
