The main difference between freeware and shareware is the price. Freeware is 100% free. You'll never be asked for any money in order to make certain features available. Shareware allows you access to most of the common functions of a program, but, generally requires a licensing fee in order to access the special features.

I think freeware means that it free and you don't have to buy anything. Stay away from the shareware, because this kind of software is no good in my opinion. The shareware is hard to get off your computer and only let you use the program for a certain time. At least it used to. I haven't tryed putting any shareware on my computer for years.

Hi there,

As the name suggests, Freeware is a peice of software which is free to use and you need not to pay almost anything for it. Wherein Shareware is a software, while using it, your data wouyld be shared with the partner companies for the promotional activities. That means you avail the software at the cost of your personal data and activities.

freeware is free.. shareware is also free but may be have limited functionality, or a time limit or something which acts like a preview for a program you can buy. but other shareware programs are the full program and free. in that case it is just another term for fre software.
