I'm currently growing my hair out so I can donate it at least once to a charity along the lines of Locks of Love. When I do get my hair chopped, I want to do something really dramatic and I'm looking for suggestion. My hair is naturally medium to dark brown and very fine and straight.

What suggestions can you offer? I'm hoping you can come up with a few good ideas I hadn't thought of yet.

Thanks in advance! =)

That is what I'm doing!!

Back to the question --

It depends. If you want to do something really dramatic - maybe go to a blonde or a red!!

As far as length goes -- if you have had long hair for a while maybe go with a short bob, that's always cute.

The problem with short bobs is that if you play any type of sport or if you are use to pulling your hair back, you won't be able to do that anymore, and that might be a barrier if you want to be able to pull your hair back.

Maybe you could grow your hair out that when you chop it of, you will still have like 2 inches below your shoulder.

That way, you can do many hairstyles. For example, a loose bun, tight bun, low pigtails (cute), low pony tail, a braid, half up half down, and you could curl your hair. There are probably more possibilities with a longer hairstyle.

Hope this helps!

Layers and do it over 2 salon - appointments.
If you need to tie your hair back for work or sport or if your a mum to a bubs, etc then keep it at a length that will suit your lifestyle and not just the appearance. Cutting such a dramatic amount of your hair off is going to change your appearance in a big way.

The cut: Go for an easy to manage hair style. It would be easier to get suggestions once you've had your cut.

2nd week: Fix up anything you didn't like with the first appt (style, cut) and get a colour, foils, streaks etc put in if you still want to.
