How many times a year should you check your credit report?

As far as I know you only get one credit report per year from each of the three credit reporting companies. The best thing to do then is get one every four months from a different agency. You can join some of those programs that alert you everytime you have a change on your credit report but you have to pay for that.

As often as you feel the need to. You are allowed 1 free credit report per year from the three major credit reporting agencies, Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. Once a year is usually sufficient unless you think that someone is fraudulandly using your credit.
