That's called kneading. It's a reflex from when the cat was nursing from its mother, it shows that the cat is comfortable. There are glands in the cat's paws that deposit a scent, the cat is marking you as "belonging to her".

It’s calling “kneading” , and it’s a sign of great contentment. When the cat was a kitten, it would “knead” it’s mother’s teats to stimulate the flow of milk… and the resulting feeling would be a full belly, contentment, and sense of togetherness and safety.
Adult cats that do this kneading behavior mimic that kitten behavior when they feel contented, safe, and well cared for.
You’re doing a good job. Keep it up.

This massaging activity resembles the kind of movement they made as kittens to get milk from their mothers. For cats, it is a warm reminder from their past.
They have no memory of that activity from their mothers just a warm good feeling.
Your cat feels safe and happy with you.

Awe I love kitties. Your cat is showing you she loves you, an ultimate sign of "I love you." Hey, it's a heck of a lot better than the "I love you" sign of a budgie- They regurgitate their food on you! You're very fortunate to have a pet that loves you this much! :)
PS- Declawing wouldn't have any influence on this type of behavior, it does have an influence on some behaviors in a Cat, but not what you've described. No worries!

Your cat is "marking" you with her scent glands. You should consider yourself "honored", they don't just do that to anyone you know!
Sounds to me like your cat really loves you, you must be doing everything right. I think your cat is a very lucky cat to be living as part of your family.
Thanks for adopting her from the shelter! Bless you.

It's the same as when she use to knead on her mother. It's a security thing meaning they trust and love you. You should be flattered. You definately have a friend for life!

That is the ultimate sign of affection from a cat. Take it as a compliment, she is showing you how much she loves you. My cats do this as well, especially on my knees or back. :)

It is relaxed and so remembers when she was a baby and had to stimulate the milk flow from her mommy. It is a sign that you are like the mother figure.

It's a carry-over from when the kitten was still nursing. And it seems to be a sign of affection.
