I should mention that although she is a great girl, she is a magnet for losers! She just met this guy 3 weeks ago and I am not sure I want him in my house. Neither does my husband. So, do I let him come for the sake of family harmony or do I go with my gut and say no?

I had a similar situation last year, accept I was on the other end of it. My Sister-in-law was having Thanksgiving at her house. They have a huge house, very nice....I had a friend (we dated twice but have been friends for 2 years now) who had no place to go for Thanksgiving. I asked if I could bring him to dinner....they said NO that they didn't have the room....I didn't go to their house for Thanksgiving because of it...Here is how I see it. NO ONE should be turned away on Thanksgiving. Its a day when we should be showing love and acceptance to people. Especially our family. So your sister is a loser-magnet (I happen to be one too, I'm working on it ..hehehe) Unless the guys she brings around are thief's or druggies.....Your sister needs to know that she is accepted and if you turn the guy away it will feel like you are turning her away too (trust me, I've been there) I wish you well...btw this year I'm putting on a Thanksgiving dinner with my friends and NO-ONE will be turned away...as it should be!! :)
Best wishes!

Although I understand your fears I do believe that everyone should get a chance. You said you have never met the guy so why not let him come and see who/how he is. If you end up not liking him then you know not to have him over anymore.
