There can be many causes but, not being a doc or your doc, I'm in no position to speculate. Ask the doc that did this.

How long ago did you have the surgeries? How long has the wound been open? How large is it? Have you seen the dr? What did he say? There are a lot of women who end up with open wounds on their incision lines after an abdominal surgery. One cause of this is the excess fluid in the underlying tissues. It needs to come out somewhere, and the incision usually opens up, esp upon sneezing or hard coughing. This wound would then be cleaned daily with sterile water and sterile gauzes and packing placed in the wound allowing it to heal from the inside out. This can take from several weeks to several months. Make sure to keep the wound clean and dry. watch for areas of redness and infection.

Possibilities would include:
You're slightly diabetic, so wounds don't heal as fast
You're old, so wounds don't heal as fast
The wound is infected

See a doctor today. He'll tell you how to clean and dress the wound for the best healing with the least scarring.

See your doctor!!! There are a lot of causes, some of which are stated above already. Aside from diabetes, infection might play a part, as well as anticoagulation (your blood can't form scars/clot due to either a condition you have or medicine you're taking).
