Ok so I see alot of people on here saying Latin pride, viva Mexico.

Do you feel it's racist to say Latin pride?

What about white pride?

Why the double standard?

Yes there is a double standard. I wonder where all the white bashers went? I've seen at least two on here today. Why the double standard? Some people seem to need racism to continue, so they make sure that it does by constantly picking at white people to provoke them.

Loved Funchy's answer!! Maybe bad hair day pride??

Seriously, I'm getting tired of all these divisive programs. There's nothing wrong with cherishing one's heritage, but why can't we concentrate on our commonality and what unites us as a nation? We are, after all the "United" States of America.

i've heard of viva mexico and latin pride but never heard anyone saying "brown pride".i have no problem with anyone yelling irish pride or british pride or even american pride.the double standard is when you point out a certain color, and when many yell that out is when people consider them racist.

White pride is fine. What's wrong with being proud of what you are. Self esteem is important for all people.

There is nothing wrong with having pride in your race or culture but that 'viva mexico' garbage doesn't belong here in America. I don't know why it's so hard for them to figure out that this isn't Mexico. This is the U.S. of America.

Dang, people are just wanting to have fun and all. You could have white pride if you want. Or you can have American pride.

Latin pride is fine with me. White pride is also fine.

Sort of silly to try and build your own self-esteem by identifying with others who happen to share your skin color and THEY accomplished something, but if it works for you, go for it.

There is nothing racist about being prideful about one's ethnicity or cultural back round be he white, brown, black or any other race.

I see no signs with white pride written on them. There are very few orgs that advocate white pride.

One org that is an advocate of Mexican pride is La Raza. Most universities and colleges have this org. Their flyers always say 'all welcome' when there is a speech or a meeting, but if you show up, and if you are white, you are told that it is for members only.

I think you can't take pride in something you did not do. A person doesn't earn or acheive "whiteness" or "latiness"... so how can you take pride in something that came naturally? What's next .... Brown Hair Pride? Big feet pride?
