Cults hook people in who are sad and lonely, and very negative the same as god or jesus does, why worship someone to fill the pockets of others, if god was true then we does he need donations, why cant you make love to the woman you love, before being married, the list is endless... its to make you feel guilty as do cults, they prey on your insecurities.

There's no such thing as "an occult". You mean "cult".

You are right on the money. I wish folks would stop trying to correct our english and pay attention to the question at hand. Occult refers to the paranormal, such as psychic abilities, etc. Cults are usually wannabes who follow each other around, idolizing those earthly beings who appoint themselves as a leader. Only those who need something to hang on to end up in cults or as bible thumpers who seem to love to cast stones at others in the quest for righteousness. They don't understand that some of us who aren't Christian, do believe in a "life after this" if you will. They refuse to believe that spirtuality is key for everlasting life, not religion. Yes, I believe they are very much a cult. Some of the meanest spirituality compromised people I have ever known are the ones who walk around with their bible, telling others who don't believe what they believe that they are doomed to Hell. I am comfortable in the knowledge that as long as I do not intentionally hurt children or animals, I will be okay. You see, what the bible people don't realize is that as long as we live our lives in a caring, decent manner, we will get to go "Home". Everyone we have ever loved will be there waiting for us too. I don't even have to be baptized to see "The Light", the countless number of souls who make up "God."

occult and cult are two different things.
occult is when people, instead of being retards and accepting an ancient book supposedly written by god, attempt to go into the spirit world for themselves, we can manipulate that realm and cause many great things to happen to us.
a cult is a religion which makes people stupid and condemns rational skepticism, like Xianity(that's short for christianity, like Xmas is short for Christmas) does.
so yes, since Xianity does call skepticism a sin, it is a cult.
"HOW DARE YOU DUMBASS FAKE DISCIPLES NOT BELIEVE I WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD"- Jesus. (paraphrased)
and don't feel bad about confusing the terms, common mistake.

I do not like to use the word "religion." For that is mans attempt in their best efforts to get right with God. Many different demoninations, or practices, that people follow that makes them feel like they can get in "good standing" with our creator. Thats why there are so many conflicts between these "religions" and people are fighting over it. Thats the result of tainting God's plan. We forget the reason Jesus came and died for us! He came so that we would have the true way back to the Father, and that He would establish the TRUE way of living. Thus, Christianity, which means Christ-like or little-Christ, is NOT a religion but merely the lifestyle of Christ that we are to replicate. Not by our own efforts, but made possible by the Holy Spirit in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Accept His Gift of salvation and experience the life of abundance. May the Lord Bless You Abundantly!!!

There are so similarities between "religion" and cults. I can't believe that after all these years that these corrupt, controlling and prejudiced cults are still allowed to operate.

We understand that you meant "cult". There are many "cults" that claim to be Christians, and many Christians who deny they are in a cult.

Most nominal Christians centuries ago quite happily took on other religions, even though they weren't supposed to.

There is no mind control in Christianity. We chose to worship God. I hate it when people who do not believe in God make stupid assumptions about Christians. Get a life will you.

yep, the only reason that there aren't that many Christian terrorists anymore is that they are scattered through societies that would not support it. Muslims live in societies that support terror attacks on people of other religions!
