especially when it comes to other women getting attention. i have several friends that get a lot of unsolicited attention from men and some of the other women in our group have gotten very jealous and angry...they will verbally attack the women who get the attention, belittle and make nasty remarks to them...i just don't get it, its so immature and vicious...

Remember the whole dating /game scene is unconsicencously a genetic breeding game.. You ladies are still in a competition to get a man no matter how big and close your group of friends are. Its the same for guys but sicne we have to work harder we encourage each other more
Anyway your hatin friends might thinks that their just as good or better than you'll and what makes you more special.
Also once the guys give you attention the competition begins to build within a woman and she wants what you have. it human nature actually.
Finally you could just be hanging around haters who are use to getting their way all the time and hate not to ahve attention

Tell your friend to pay them no attention. They are just jealous of her and by being mean and nasty they probably think that they are really hurting her feelings. Tell her don't give them the satisfaction of showing it if they do hurt her feelings. Some women can be such bit**es that its not even funny. Apparently, your friend has something that the men want and they don't so they have to resort back to the high school days of talking about her. Tell her to hold her head high and be proud of who she is and what she has unless she dresses in an inappropriate manner and she flirts with the men and acts in an indecent manner and if that is not the case then tell her not to change who she is just so those women will stop talking about her because they are gonna continue to talk about her even if she were a nun. People talked about Jesus for over 33 yrs. and who are we compared to OUR ALMIGHTY SAVIOR? God bless your friend and tell her to keep her head up. People are gonna talk about other people always just pray for them.

I have been in the situation you are describing to a tee so many times. Sometimes it can get physical between the girls. Its sad really, mostly I would account it to jealousy. Think if you were the less desirable one then you would understand. It doesnt give her a right to verbally assault you but there really isnt much you can do about it.
This is why I dont have many female friends, I got tired of the drama...

Yeah, I see but.... I can be mean and vicious a little evil but its for your own protection, I'm not a big girl, I don't have a lot of strength but I have an attitude and if your mean and vicious guys tend to think you'd beat them up if you get to close or to comfortable. so it is for me for my own protection.

It is their nature... Not everyone is like that, and I stay away from people who are like that. I had a friend who ONCE she became a model would belittle everyone else because in her eyes... She was better than everyone else. She is still like that and I dont hang out with her at all anymore. It drives me nuts for her to think she is better and then berate everyone around her... I know Im a good looking girl... But I dont judge others and I dont flat out tell anyone that their ugly or that Im better looking and I dont hang out with people who are like that... its ridiculous and like you said, VERY Immature!

Yes it is immature and silly, and yet a LOT of women, will turn on each other, especially if there is a man involved...there's some fierce need in some to be the one who gets noticed...to feel desired above the others...
To me, it says that person has self esteem issues, among other things...

Inside every women there are two women. the natural woman and the culturally programmed woman. The culturally programmed woman is the one with all the rules and all the roles... all the restrictions, constrictions... all the shouldn'ts, shoulds, don'ts, can'ts, mustn'ts...etc.
But the natural woman....that's the woman right there at the core... where you keep your most exciting memories... where you ponder fantasies... daydreams... amazing possibilities... the things you'd do if no one were watching and no one... even your best friends... would ever, ever know about...

Fact of the matter is women tend to get very vicious and catty. It truly depends on the type of attention.
Now, something else I'd like to clarify, young girls and young women tend towards this behavior and it is one that most tend to outgrow as they get older.
