One Happy Pagan person here... I don't think Mankind as a whole is truly evil. Individual Humans can be very evil in both deed and intent (sad really) I've found where there's a great deal of profit and power that's where the most corruption tends to lie; however, evil isn't confined there. Some people are just nasty. It's almost as if they were born without a soul or lost it somewhere along their way. It can range from the bitter grumpy old lady down the street to a CEO of a large company to a mass murder and all the variances in between. I wish we could do something; but that only means the rest of us have to step up and be as kind as we can be. Blessings.

I would have to answer this in a similar way to the question "How much good do you think mankind is capable of?" Mankind as a whole is capable a tremendous amount evil as long as we can justify it through religion or being able to say it is for the benefit of mankind as a whole. This mostly due to ignorance. Mankind as a whole is not willing to think about anything for a long period of time. Some indviduals are capable of much greater evil than mankind as a whole because they have deceived their way into a position of power but it is mankinds ignorance that has given them this power. Other individuals are not capable of such great evil because they cannot conceal their intentions or convince others that the act is either not evil or it is in their best interest.

Mankind is about as evil as you can get.
The news are filled with such ugly stories: Murderers, rapists, and torturers. When someone is willing to inflict great harm on someone else, that is pretty evil.
The only known way to be more evil is to do it to many people. I say that, but I don't really consider a serial rapist to be any more evil than the school jock who rapes an unconscious girl. They are both evil.
Is there anything more evil than man? I've yet to see it. As an atheist, I don't recognize the devil. I'd rather acknowledge that some people are just downright evil rather than blame it on some invisible being.
Evil seems to go along with intelligence. Animals aren't often evil (though some do have bad dispositions). If we discovered another intelligent race, then perhaps we may find more evil. But I doubt it. Pretty much, there is nothing more evil than inflicting harm on another life.

Humankind is capable of much evil.
Satan is more evil than humans, in that his evil is pure and unconflicted.
Whereas most of humankind has a conscience, which makes pure evil unattainable.
Although there may very well be a few people who have no conscience...and these are more closely allied to the dark lord. These are the ones for whom the scope and reach of evil is extensive and frightening.

Man is capable of much evil. Just taking a look 100 years into our past is proof enough. In the early 1940's, a man named Adolf Hitler rounded up all the Jews, and exterminated them on his basis of hatred. In the Late '40's/early '50's, a man named Stalin purged all of his countrymen. I believe over 1 million people were killed.

Bush has another several months. I'll get back to ya.
Seriously though, "evil" doesn't exist in the abstract, but only in combination. One man's meat is another man's poison. Heat is "good" for hot dogs and "evil" for ice cream. It's the same for human interactions: murder is "evil" unless the president says to do it! This is moral relativism, which seems to freak out religious types who can't conceive of anybody having values based on anything besides the God crutch and the system of supernatural threats and rewards. Of course, all it really means is that there are different values appropriate to different people.
Read some Nietzsche if you're smart enough.

All evil is created by people. We're the ones who invented the concept of evil and a sense of right and wrong. You may see an animal behaving in a way that would be considered evil if a person were doing it, but the animal is not evil, because it doesn't know better and it doesn't live according to rules set by humans.
I'm a Deist, by the way.

Well, evil, having been invented and used only by man, knows no bounds. Therefore, the evil within and expressed by man is and can be limitless. I speak from experience.

All kinds. You name it, we can do it.
I don't think there is anything more evil than man. I also don't think there exists anything other than man, so that's a no-brainer.
Nature, while it may seem cruel or even evil (to some) is merely neutral.
We be the bad guys.
