I'm Pentecostal, too!! I haven't cut my hair for almost 1 year now!
I wear skirts and modest clothes and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I wouldn't leave this for anything! Just dress your little one in thick tights and a little skirt that she can't trip over. God Bless.

I wear skirts all the time, and have since I was a baby. When I became Pentecostal, it really wasn't a hard thing, since I already did those things. Now, I cut my hair before, but I don't now and it looks just as healthy as it did before I stppped cutting it. As for being cold... My mother used to put thermal underwear on us under our skirts, and as we got older and the temp got colder she would give us thick wool skirts or courderoy skirts and sweat pants underneath with the thermal underwear. I have not worn makeup, ever, and I don't see why people want to ruin their skin by wearing it either. Here there are a lot of women, pentecostal and non, who wear long skirts, long hair, no make-up, and little jewelry. But really, wear what you are comfortable, and if you feel conflited, pray about it and God will show you the way.

I think a lot of this issue requires one to come to an understanding about where their faith comes from, the Bible or their upbringing and belief in what their spiritual elders are teaching them. I don't want to come across as judgmental. Other people do a perfectly good job of doing that. Oops, sorry. I just judged THEM. Well, serves them right. But anyway, if you do believe that God wants you to cut your hair and wear makeup or not wear makeup and dress only in skirts then well you know your answer, right? You shouldn't need to ask your fellow man for permission to follow the rules that God has laid down. But if you feel that the rules have no biblical merit then maybe it's time to start wondering if this is the right denomination after all.

I can understand your children's difficulty with this, but if it's important to you, then it's up to you to explain it to your children in such a way to lovingly convince them that it's more important to follow God's rules than to give into selfish Earthly desires. Maybe this is a question for your church. Do you have a woman's bible study group you could ask? How about friends at the church?

I'm not a Pentecostal, in fact, I've never practiced any type of Christianity. Still, I'd like to answer this question. I highly respect the modesty that females in those particular denominations practice. I think it is wonderful! Their real beauty shines through without a bunch of make up or bare skin. I respect them because even though what they believe isn't always convenient, they still adhere to it. That shows dedication. Last year my neighbors got a pool. Their girls were out romping in the pool fully clothed and having a great time. That's okay with me. I think it's great and I notice and respect them alot. They probably never realize how a total stranger like me notices.

I have been a polytheist for my entire life and am very happy with my deities and my religion. But if I absolutely HAD to practice a monotheistic religion, I would look into those Pentecostal denominations or perhaps the Amish. That is how much I respect their modesty and devotion to their deity and beliefs.

If the Government asked you to do these things would you?
If your husband asked you to do these things would you?
Do you consider your religion to be truth and therefore freedom?
Why would you shackle yourself in these ways when the person telling you that this is law only knows more about the book in front of you, but has exactly the same amount chance of being correct about eternity as you or I do.

I'm sorry but it makes me sick that we make so many comments on how the muslim treat there women and societies yet you willing walk into this eyes wide open for what? Salvation?

Show me exactly where Jesus said women must have long hair and wear skirts.

If there was a god why would he care if you or your little child wears pants ???

Unbelievable someone acutally considers this an issue. If god cares about this he sure is a petty little god
