It's a very good Web browser, developed from the Netscape codebase (more or less). One of its nice features is its open architecture, which makes it possible for developers to create extensions that enhance the program's utility.

I'm using Firefox as I write this.

Firefox is a web browser. It does the same things as Internet Explorer. You would use it for web browsing, e-mail, Yahoo Answers, etc. Lots of people (myself included) perfer it to Internet Explorer. It had some feature that IE did not (until the new version released just two weeks ago), such as tabs. Also, because it is only used by a small percentage of computers, it has not been attacked by virus, spyware, etc. like IE. So it has been more secure to use.

Version 2.0 was just relased this week, and (so far) appears to work great. If you want to try it, go to http://getfirefox.com and download it for free.

It is an Internet browser, just like Internet Explorer. I like FireFox a lot better that IE though (and so do a LOT of other people). Check it out, it's free!
