Please don’t let these self-centered worldly people get you down. They are wrong. Your humility is STRENGTH!!!! Not weakness. And thank you so much for coming to us for help.

God DOES exist. He proves it to me every day. Study your Bible. Go to church. And involve yourself in your church. Join a women’s bible study group at least.

Often times, the best thing you can do when you feel that you need spiritual or emotional help is to HELP OTHERS! If you need to find understanding in life, then look to other people. Whether God exists or not, if you help other people your life will still have meaning. Volunteer at a local hospital or a charity function. You will then know real happiness and purpose. And I truly believe that the Holy Spirit will reveal Himself to you. Just keep your faith. Study the bible. And get involved.

I don't know how people go on without God either....so, thank God there is God! Without Him there is no hope as far as I can see.

It is such a relief to me to know that He is in charge no matter how things look ...and that He is love and He loves everyone.

He can be our burden bearer...and it is much easier to cope with life if I let Him take the pain and I walk on to see if there is anything I can do to help someone around me. He does the big stuff and I do what little I can....and it will all be ok someday.

We just need to start loving one another...and that can start today...here...now...by just being respectful and kind to one another whether we agree or not.......

If there is no God, then this is all we have, and we need to make the best of it. Stop complaining about the suffering on Earth and act to ease some of that suffering.

What if there is a God and when you die, the test for getting into Heaven is not "Do you believe in Jesus?" -- but instead is "Were you a good person?" or "Did you do something to make life better for your fellow man?" In that case, there will be a lot more atheists getting into heaven than there will be Christians.

Well, a lot of people don't need to rely on a belief in God to get through. It may sound like a cliche, but believing in myself is enough. I know that someday I will die and that will be the end, I will be worm food. So I just enjoy life as best I can, and try to learn and grow and be a positive influence on the people around me. I don't need to believe in God or any other deity or mystical mumbo jumbo to be happy.

Then non-belief is not an option for you, and that's fine. But consider:
Yes, like most others I've seen pain and loss, some of which seemed unbearable. And yet ...

I've loved seeing my children grow, and being with them. The company of my wife is precious to me, as are my friends. I enjoy doing good and always try to take a stand for justice. I've tried to be useful and ethical. I endeavor to tease out as much understanding of the universe as my meager intellect allows and enjoy the creativity of others.

I think of this as my human lot. There are no gods in my equation ... and there is no despair. But again, that's me, not you.

That was just sad. You know that saying that you wouldn't go on unless you thought you had some giant parental figure in the sky wiping your bottom for you makes you seem extremely weak minded, right? Please say you realize this. My existence is its own justification and I guess I am just a stronger person than the sort of "wounded dove" that would write a question like this. I actually feel really sorry for you.

For me, it's simply knowing that this life is all I'm guaranteed, so I might as well make the most of it (as it could end tomorrow, after all). Furthermore, since it's all that anyone else is guaranteed (as the existence of an afterlife is unknown), I also want others to be able to enjoy this life. Ultimately, we are responsible for ourselves, and while we aren't perfect, we aren't powerless either.

When I don't like the way things are, I take responsibility and make a change. I don't pray to a god to make things better, at least not now that I have reached adulthood.

As you grow and mature into womanhood, you will (hopefully) learn more productive coping skills.

That's a really sad statement about yourself. I have no problem with living my life and understanding that the good comes with the bad. I also realize that this is a one shot deal so i better live it as fully as i can. If you need an imaginary friend to make your life worthwhile you really need to examine your life and take some steps towards making it better.

I do not have pain and tears every night. I also believe in many gods, I just choose to worship only a few of them. Is there a correlation there? Hmmmm...
