It's a used 1997 model, but it only has 115,000 miles on it. I would like to hear comments from people who have owned one for at least 5-years. It's a really clean car, and looks like it's been taken care of. Also, it's a V-8 model, what kind of gas mileage should i expect? Hopefully at least 17-18 MPG.

Land Rovers are one of the worst possible cars in quality that you could buy. A 1997 with 115,000 miles on it can be planned to spend a significant amount of time in the shop every year- you would almost need to own a second car for all the time it will spend in the shop. There are stories of people that purchased brand-new Land Rovers who had them break down on the way home from the dealer- notice I said stories, as in its happened many times.
You can plan on 14 City and 16 Highway MPG.

Abolutely not. I own a '03 and have had it in the shop 13 times for electrical issues! I have had every single heating and cooling component except for the radiator replaced. I even had to have the factory stereo replaced! Have I mentioned they are horrible with road noise? How about the electric window motors go out and get stuck 1/2 down?

I am sure you get my point....

Oh, BTW... my next door neighbor HAD one too. His was a '98 with 80k miles. He eventually called a junk yard and had them tow the POS.
