My friend's dads are medical doctors, and my friends are now in medical school.
My friend's dad owns businesses and is a millionare, and my friend is 20 and owns two businesses and lives in a great condo.
My cousin's dad (uncle) is a lawyer and his son (my cousin) is a lawyer.
My dad carries waxed boxes in a factory for a living and earns $29,000 a year. He has a masters degree in Math, but has no ambition an is as timid as a mouse.
I have a bachelor degree and work as a superindent for a construction company, and sometimes feel like I'm timid as a mouse.
Is the saying that "Like Father like Son" true?
Do your friend's end up like their dad?
If this is true, I'm going to put a bullet in my brain.

You just answered your question with all the listed examples above. But if you need reassurance from an unknown party, then Yes cabron. You will end up like your dad in some form.

nahhh my old man was a teacher and i completely lack the ability to explain even things that i'm good at.
no way atleast i hope not
some folks' familie really pressure them into going into the family business(or the same type of business as their relatives) my dad told me that i was gonna have to make it on my own. so i took off early and just did my own thing. there's no way i will end up like my old man. we're honestly two very different people.
and as for being as timid as a mouse appareently you're not. you obviously have the fortitude to find your own path in life. if you're the superintendant you've obviously shown enough "go for it" to get yourself a position over people. yeah a few of my friends have gone into the profession of their fathers' but alot of them are doing something completely different.
don't feel like there is anything holding you back man because there isn't. just keep on keepin on and it'll all fall inplace

No one does not automatically become like ones father. A lot of guys grow up to be the complete opposite of their fathers. I personally am proud to have become a lot like my Dad( who I lost when I was 19) I am hardworking, honest, and have a good work ethic and a lot of faith in people, on the flip side I also have little patience with fools and ignorance. Get to know your Dad better all strength is not easliy seen, sometimes it lies beneath the surface.

you do no longer substitute your father, do you? Karat is a heap of bull ****. so some distance as his no longer allowing BJP or damn the different occasion forming government, or maybe no longer allowing Manmohan or the different individual from starting to be PM, we everybody is extra in charge then this genius stupid. His is the capacity of POLITICAL arithmetic. If he has the, he can roar. apart from, communists have a attractiveness in basic terms of denying. See:-- Reforms? NO, BJP? NO, Manmohan? NO, Liberalisation? NO. Thy could desire to be dumped to NO guy"S LAND and shot from the two sides. to assert Karat is new Father of the country is an insult of your motherland.

people have different personalities and your personality can not be the same as your dad's. one thing i can say about your friends& cousins is that they were either pushed by their dads to do all that stuff or they have been given financial assistance by their dads another option could be that they have always admired what their dads have acheived and hence decided to follow in their dads footsteps. you as an individual should try and change your life you feel that you are not doing what you have always wanted to do.

when you are raised around cerain environments, you are bound to pick up a high percent of that environment...you cannot help having traits like your father, but as an adult you have to walk your own path and choose the way you want to be..some habits are hard to break, but if yours bothers you, then you are the only one who can change them....It's just my opinion. Oh, and my father was one in a million and there is no way I can live up to(in my mind), his perfection...

I don't think that the saying is true. You have your future in your hands and if you have the ambition and will to be a lawyer, doctor or even rocket scientist then you could.

Not necessarily unconciously you may be like him but if it some sort of behavior that made you unhappy, and someone tells you are acting that way then you work on changing the habits you don't like or made you unhappy with your dad

Its not ture. It's not the job you have that makes you like your father, it's the qualities and things he has shown you in life.
