Insurance coverage does not make any difference in the fee.
The tooth position makes a huge difference, though. Some are simple extractions costing in the $100+ neighborhood and at the other extreme, you might have a lot of bone in the way and this extraction could cost up to $500. MANY are in the $200-250 range.

Is the tooth impacted (under the gum line?). If it is then it may be covered under your regular health insurance, if you have any. Otherwise ask the dentist before they remove the tooth so you know how much to pay or visit a local dental school. Look at websites of local colleges around you for "dental programs". If the college has a program for people to become dentists, then the school probably has a public clinic you can visit.

If the tooth is above the gum-line and can be pulled normally the usual rate is $125.00 or up but if the tooth needs surgical extraction then it is $350.00 and up. These prices are just with regular Novocaine and not anesthetic. You will get prices all over the place but, try to go with someone who is connected to a Christian charity if you are poor because they actually have a fund they can use to help subsidize your treatment.

An arm, a leg and your first born, apparently. Seems prices have gone up from when I worked in a dental office and we charged a hefty sixty dollars per tooth!

it may cost anywhere form 100 dollars to 400 dollars. But it all depends if the tooth is impacted (partially or fully). and if any general anesthesia is used or not.
