A first class ticket cost around 3- or- $4,000.00 at the time. That got you a parlor suite for two people. Today, that would translate to about $50,000.00.

A single first class ticket was 86 pounds ($430 American) A second class ticket was 13 pounds ($65 American) and a third class ticket was 7 pounds ($35 American).
