Yes, I have heard the expression. The meaning behind this is that if a man asks you out with little notice and you accept it appears you are available to him, without other plans or possibly options. It is rather silly though and I wouldn't follow this advice or the man you crave will just ask another girl that is more available!

This adage is probably from a book of etiquette, and I think the point is that a lady should expect to be invited out on a date at least three days prior to the planned date. Otherwise, it's considered to be a last minute invitation, that probably followed someone else cancelling plans. While it's true that most guys would like to be able to ask for a date last minute.....there is some wisdom in what you're referring to. This is real 'old school' but something to consider, isn't it?!

I've read this in "The Rules". If a woman accepts a date for Saturday after Wednesday, it says that the man may have a perception that she doesn't have much going on in her life by not being that busy.

Personally, it does work but I'm geniunely always busy! But you have to come to your own conclusion. If there's someone that I really want to spend time with, I move my appointments to fit.

One wise woman (me) says 'Don't play mind games. It's exhausting and pointless.'

yeah it's just to show the guy that he needs to be making plans with you ahead of time rather than waiting to the last minute and assuming that you'll be available to go...
