I am not aware of any. There is one 40 min ferry ride from the city. It is Sandy Hook in NJ.

Hi. There aren't any official nude beaches in NYC, but there are two really good ones right outside in the suburbs.
My favorite place to get naked is at Lighthouse Beach, in Sufflok County on Long Island, about an hour's drive (and totally worth it!) east of New York City. It's an awesome and totally legal nude beach, and you'll love it!
There's also a legal nude beach across the river in New Jersey. It's at sandy Hook and is called Gunnison Beach. I've never been there but it's very popular during the summer.
I was told that there's a nude section in the area od Riis Park in the Belle Harbor section of Queens, which is in NYC, but I'm not certain if that area is still nude friendly.
remember that it's legal in New York State for a woman to be topless anyplace a guy can be, so if your wife shooses she can go topless on any beach without legal hassles. She may have to put up with comments or rude looks from the "prudes", but if you can't get to the nude beaches it's the next best thing.
Finally, it's getting too cold for the beach in New York at this time of year...best bet is to wait for the first warm days of late April to visit the nude beach.

Actually, there are very few beaches in New York City at all!
There is only Orchard Beach in the Bronx. All the rest are on Long Island.
However, you can go out to Long Island and go to Jacob Riis Park, where they allow nude sunbathing.

There are beaches in Robert Moses State Park where nude bathing is permitted, its about an hour outside of NYC
