At times I feel its nice to have it on the rocks but then again - as the ice melts - Im disappointed because the nice Bourbon flavor gets watered.
Is Bourbon or Whiskey supposed to be "on the rocks" or should it be at room temperature?

First off for the people who think Southern Comfort is a Whiskey need to read the bottle a little more carefully...it is the same as Yukon Jack a Liquer not a Whiskey. I am a huge Burbon drinker and a member of the Brotherhood of Burbon and Kentucky Burbon Circle. The only way I will ever drink my burbon is in a rocks glass with no ice and at room temperature. As far as my favorite burbons go that would have to be Jim Beam and his 5 brothers.

Well, saying Kentucky Bourbon is redundant but Bourbon is my favorite type of alcohol. I rarely compromise the flavor of it with water, ice, coke, or anything else so I say room temperature. This isn't limited to Bourbon for me though, I usually drink straight but sometimes feel like a mixed drink or the occasional drink on the rocks. I'm probably a bit biased towards Bourbon though because I'm from Kentucky but I'll take it any day.

Bourbon is a sipping whiskey really. It can be either way, but Scotch on the Rocks would be better I think. If you like the taste of Bourbon, you will love "Southern Comfort". It has more taste and less alcohol.

either. I prefer it neat with a water back but, plenty of people have it on the rocks. When my Dad passed away this last year -- we took it right out of the bottle. I have 9 brothers and sisters and we had a wake of sorts and passed the bottle around and everyone kept taking a pull. My Dad was a larger than life John Wayne kind of a guy who used to ride the rails from rodeo to rodeo riding bulls and broncos so our salute would have been much to his liking.

I like good sippin bourbon like Blanton's. For apres-ski I love the 100 proof Wild Turkey with a little warm water.

southern comfort is a bit to syrupy for me. Henry McKenna is a good table whiskey (with meals). Bourbon is meant to be sipped, straight, not mixed. like my dad used to say "why build a nice warm fire in the pit of your stomach, then p*** on it and put it out"

Room temp if neat, otherwise you lose the nose...if over ice, it should be sugared, as in a mint julep (silver cup only for these!!).

Bourbon and coke is obscene - that is what rum is for!

I drink Crown on the rocks or with coke. I drink Jack on the rocks, period.
