The reccomended maximum dose for Abilify is 30mg per day, however depending on you health care provider they may choose to place you on a larger dose, or place you on oral and injectable. I know from being a Pharmacy Tech that Bristol-Meyer has just come up with 2 new ways of dosing, but you neet to consult with your doc for best results for you. I found some web information that may be helpful to you. Good Luck GMM

A Psychitrist may tell you that high doses make your body feel agitated and your legs restless. A high dose is not shown to be more effective. Best to start out at smallest dose, go a week, then up. As soon as you start to "feel" it, then reduce. That is where you will get the most out of the drug. If you are on a dose that makes you feel bad then you are actually overdosing on abilify. It does not mean it is not a good drug, it means actually that your body responds to it. You just need less.

I am not a doctor but hardly anyone on yahoo answers is....

Good luck.

I did not actually answer the question you asked but I hope I helped you anyway.

I started out on a small dose of Ability and it made me feel like I wanted to crawl out of my skin. Is that the same as agitation? I suppose if your body can ever adjust to that feeling that maybe it could work. Are you on it for manic depression? I've been on Lamactil for quite a few months and the side effects are almost non-existant for me. Episodes of the manic depression are still there, but the frequency of them is less and less. I like it a lot. And I've been on most of them.

i'm on 150mg of Effexor and 300mg of Welbutrin in line with day. Straightened my butt good out. Been 3 years and it remains working. No journey with Lexapro or the way it compares to Effexor. sturdy success. until people have been there, they have no theory of what psychological soreness incredibly is.

I took 40 at one point, but I swear it helped no more than 30.
