And what happens if your TVs have dishnetwork in the same house? Oh, and by the way, can we run a line from the computer to a flat panel high-definition TV in the wall in the next room, and effectively feed movies to it whenever we get the urge?

Well, there's Verizon FiOS. Fiber direct to your house.

Current plans:
Up to 5 Mbps/2 Mbps$34.95
Up to 15 Mbps/2 Mbps$44.95
Up to 30 Mbps/5 Mbps$179.95

I believe they're planning to offer TV over the fiber as well.
