A guy walks into town from California....a bit of a loner, a surfer with the full tan look all over.
HHe walks into the first bar and shouts'a drink to everyone i've come across the mine of an old prospector and get me some nuggets from it'
he pulls out a nugget and throws it onto the bar.
I don't have time to return to the mine i came to town for a shower,a shave and a feed, who will buy this map of the mine from me for $1000,000.
the sheriff hears this,looks into his face really carefully and tells him to leave town as he is an imposter.
how did the sheriff know?

Is there like no gold mines in that state or something?
Or you could tell by the gold when he throws it as it is denser than normal rock or iron pyrites, also softer.
It could be the gold was "panned" ie came from a river not a mine, so a mine map is useless.

cause he was obviously pulling a scam---if nothing else who usualy has a million bucks? w/ the chances so low of fnding a buyer--you wouldnt want to advertise that your just carrying around gold nuggets, or the deed to the mine.... seriously how could he not know.

because who would want a map of the mine. you still wouldn't no were the mine was. you would need a map to the mine not of the mine. so obiviosly he's scamming ppl becuse all they get is a map of the mine not to it.
