Tell her in person or on the phone. If she starts yelling, DON'T raise your voice. instead lower it & just say this is a time of joy-which it is-and you hope she will be a part of this wonderful occasion.

Call her on the phone and tell her that she going to be a grandmother, If she starts yelling because you took so long to tell her, let her know that this is a little life that you will be bringing into the world and you want her to be a part of it even if you waited this long. Let her know the reason why you took so long to tell her is because you didn't want to be stressed out with her yelling. Let her know that you love her. Good Luck..

If you're scared of her yelling, tell her in front of your grandmother or something. Tell her you wanted to be old fashioned and not tell people until you absolutely had no choice. Maybe she'll buy it.
