Hey brothers and sisters in Christ, I'm a little frightened, scared, w/e. I just met this guy, and I'm totally in love with him, and he's in love with me. He graduates this year, and I'm totally excited for him. However, I just asked him what he wanted to do after he graduates, and he said he wants to join the Armed Forces, I'm totally proud of him, and I admire what he's going to do - He's so incredibly brave. But now I'm frightened that something's going to happen to him. I really don't know what to do, and I just need some reassurance or advice, please :)

Hey - if you love him, and he really believes that's where God wants him to go, support him, and just trust in God that He will take care of him. Remember no matter what happens nothing can separate you from the love of God... I Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." Hope that helps a little:). God bless.

I retired last year after 21 years of service to our country and it was the best experience of my life. You have to release him to do what you guys agree on. Share your feelings with him, and let him share his with you. Pray about the decision TOGETHER. then go from there.
Remember that being in the military doesnt mean that he will be fighting a war in Iraq 24/7. I was with my wife and children for most of the time. My children were born overseas, and we got to see the world. It is an awesome experience. The retirement check I get in the mail every month now is nice too.

The possibility of your boyfriend getting hurt is of 2 to 4 %
That is like 100 tickets have been sold for a raffle of a watch.
In the best case (4%) you have four chances, against 96 to win that watch.
The probabilities are that you will NOT win the watch.
In your case the probabilities are that your boyfriend will NOT be harmed.

You need to have faith, and believe that God has a plan in all of this. Support your boyfriend, he will need your support. And if he is just joining the Air Force, it will be awhile before he has to go anywhere. So just take all of this one day at a time and keep talking to God. He'll give you what you need.

Soldiers need support structures to maintain morale. Yes, some get hurt, but they do so much good that the biased US media never tells you about.
Check out http://www.defenselink.mil/ for the TRUE story from Iraq and other places our soldiers, sailors, marines, & airmen are working. They have MANY GOOD stories about the efforts that the media doesn't want people to know.

True Christians are to learn war no more according to the scriptures. Point this out to him and try to help him see that following Jesus means to be peacable with all men. Also, the Bible says that all the governments will mass together to fight against God. Point out to your young man that if he gives his allegiance to the country and the country turns to fight against God that he will certainly be on the losing side of the battle. Pray that he will understand what you tell him.

"just met (him)" and "totally in love with him".
Whoa. Slow down!
The date, time and place of his passing has already been written. And if he has resolved himself to that, then he has become VERY dangerous to the Enemy.
"Something" IS going to happen to him. We have no idea what it is - but God does. It may look good to us - it may look bad to us. But it IS for his good and God's glory.
"Something" is going to happen to each one of us. Every day. One of Jesus' most stern messages was given through the Parable of the Talents. Do NOT live in fear or live fearfully!
Now then, I bless you with HUGE amounts of joy and peace from Heaven above!

It's completely NORMAL for you to be feeling the way you do right now.
Take comfort in your faith and ask that God look over and protect him. That's also a good prayer for all of our soldiers, sailors and airmen.

Constantly pray for his safety as well as your patience and assurance that he'll be ok. Just pray and ask God for comfort.

Both of you should pray about it. Ask for His guidance. And then leave it in His hands.
