I think with information getting around the globe quickly that we feel that wars are on the increase. The number of wars has definitely decreased. I can only say this because just counting the warring factions in Asia and Europe before the formation of large countries, the numbers are overwhelming. The number of people involved was smaller, definitely. With the formation of larger political entities and the globalization of power and economics the affects are greater.

That is for some of the wars. This is why the US does not care about Darfur. It does not affect them. When else in History would we have even HEARD of the war? Never.

I think wars will decrease over time.

We're seeing an increase in conflict right now, but taking a long-term view, I believe this increase is temporary and minor. Even now, the conflicts in the Middle East are much less limited than those of last century. A hundred US troops killed in Iraq in a single day is nothing compared to the tens of thousands of Allied and Axis troops killed in any given day of WWI or WWII.

I believe the trends towards increasing political and economic liberalization, along with globalization, will make wars much less frequent and much less destructive in the future. As nations learn to live in freedom and to trade peacefully for each other, the motivations to start wars will be diminished and the desire of the people to fight them will decrease as well.

I think they are gradually increasing, and there is a lot of violence in the world now, however there always has been which ever way you look at it, however I think in different countries diffeent issues are arising and i think you are getting one type of radical person at one end of the spectrum or other people at the other end. I think mor people are taking one view or another and hardliners are comming thru. I think that people are ignorant, very ignorant at this moment in time, and when people look back in history, they will look and ask us why didnt u see all this stuff coming. I think that the ignorance can cause a lot more wars.
