Well, yes I have noticed that people seem to deviate from the subject at hand, if not completely miss the point. I think its a combination of things. They want to answer quickly too, so that their answers are at the top. More likely, people all have something to say, feeling very strongly about their own beliefs and and are keen and ready to have their point of view heard, this often biases their answer. Others...Simply don't know what they're talking about.

yes and even more so, ever notice how a Q is asked to certain group of people so you answer accordingly only to find some legrider with the same OPINION as the asker gets the best answer? Some people don't really want answers at all!

Hi
To be honest, I really don't answer just for the points. If there is a question I really don't understand or a question that is just out there I don't even bother. Although I would like to think the questions I do answer helps the person who asked it.

Perhaps your questions are not clear enough? Often, answers that are elicited tend to focus on a specific portion of the question to which the anwserer has the most experience or knowledge. Also, set your expectations a little lower...as most folks here are far from professional with their answers!

Try asking the question directly (don't mince words) and you might get better answers! I always try to answer questions directly (that's what I would want in return). If I want to know something, I ask in the simplest, clearest way possible so everyone can understand.

Maybe they get bored half-way through answering the question. If it is too detailed, I won't want to put the effort into it. Or if it's silly, they might just laugh and write something simple like "uh, yeah". Other than that, you just have to take it half-seriously.

Some are bad for that, yes. But I always get at least a few fully relevant answers. Maybe you aren't being as clear as you think you are in your questions?

I've never had any problems and most of the posts I see answer the questions that were asked. Maybe your questions weren't so clear.
