Cozumel is mainly for folks who want to spend a lot of time at the beach and/or in the water snorkeling and/or scuba diving. We took a tour of the island and didn't see anything worth going back to. There is not much else on the island besides beaches and shopping in the town. If you make a cruise stop in Cozumel your best activity will be a tour that goes to the main land for the tours to Chichen Itza, Xcarat, or other places. If you stay in Cozumel, go to the beach.

In Cozumel, you can do all kinds of water sports (snorkling, diving, water ski, para-sailing), but what I enjoyed the most was taking a scooter and traveling the island. Sightsee on my own, if you do not want that, you can take a ferry over to Cancun (20 minutes) and go to any hotel and use their facilities. I have traveled everywhere and can tell you what to expect and what not to do. EXPERIENCE
