why is it good to be yourself rather than being someone else?

because that's the only person you are ever going to be, so you may as well get on with with making yourself as interesting as possible! You don't have a choice unless you want to become an actor/actress and they only do it because it would get boring if they played themselves all the time.

Because that other person already exists or has existed and you can't possibly replicate every facet of that person. It's much easier to learn to live with yourself and like yourself.
