Don't get me wrong. I know that blacks still face racial discrimination in many areas, and I think it's wrong. However, blacks have access to grants, loans, and scholarships just like whites do, so is it really necessary to have a scholarship fund that's based on race?

Yes, there are private scholarship funds for various groups, but if there were one that was strictly for whites, it would be declared illegal.

Federal loans and grants help those who are underprivileged. I don't agree with the KKK, but it exists, because the First Amendment allows it to.

Also, you don't have to be academically gifted to qualify for certain types of state and federal aid.

How many whites have actually had the UNCF pay for their education?

As a black woman myself, I can say with complete confidence that I think black people are some of the most racist idiots alive.

That said, UNCF exists in order to provide scholarships to black teens wishing to attend Historically Black Universities. So if you're the first in your family to go to college and through sweat, blood, and years of hard work you manage to get into Harvard or Yale and all you need is the money to support you, you're out of luck. As far as UNCF is concerned, your education is worthless if your college of choice isn't black enough.

Don't even get me started on affirmative action.

In the first place, discrimination is a good thing. It's an advantage that living things cannot afford to be without. What has happened in many countries of the West is that a propaganda campaign has been waged and won by subversives who have successfully convinced many that it is immoral to seek the advantages of racial discrimination. On the contrary, it is a right and moral thing to do by the only standard that really counts: nature's.

And the most successful White people are the hypocrites who speak all the correct phrases and then racially discriminate in their minds as they make their choices about who to hire, who to promote, who to associate with, etc. While making up plausible cover stories, of course.

Every time the law or the church makes it "immoral" to pursue the goal of survival and success, it breeds a whole army of hypocrites who say one thing and do another. As long as anti-discrimination rules exist, the hypocrisy will continue, and the successful people will be the best liars.

And, no, making the rules stricter and the penalties for racial discrimination harsher won't work. It will only motivate the liars to become even more clever, the deceits even more ruthless. Always, with no exceptions, rules that require contrasurvival behavior (which anti-discrimination laws do) produce masked disobedience and various forms of covert ugliness.

In the second place, you have the pivot under the wrong part of the racial see-saw. The only "official" preferences in Western societies are those in favor of Blacks and other "protected" minorities. There are no special programs for Whites. Most of the money to fund those programs comes from White taxpayers. Most of the benefits of those programs go to people who aren't White. And you can't refuse to pay your taxes, you know. Those payments are not voluntary. They are taken by, at least, the threat of going to prison or getting shot by a policeman.

Yes!
These scholarships have nothing to do with racial discrimination. It is a historical scholarship that still should stay running, because it is a remembrance of how hard African Americans had struggle to get the quality education as whites.

Anyway, whites know that they can apply for the United ***** Fund, too. I wonder what bother whites the most, that there are scholarship that target African American, Hispanics and other minorities (white women) or the fact that minorities are smart even to provide scholarship for minorities whether or not they are rich.

It is amusing how some people are under the assumption that racism is fully dead and black people don't need UNCF or the NAACP or any of the other organizations geared toward blacks. Never mind that in America there are neighborhoods that don't have any blacks or other minorities in them as well as whole towns and no one is crying foul for that. Also in this day and age it is not uncommon for an African American to walk off without getting a loan from a bank for education.

Because its needed. It helps young people get an education who can't afford it. The ones who probably won't get a grant or student loan. Because they are not academically gifted, or have a financially secure background that says we will pay the loan back. They tell you up front who the money is going to help.
What you should be asking is Why are organizations like the KKK allowed to exist. In answer to your next remark: No I am not black, brown or yellow. What makes us different is melanin. Acording to the wikipedia:
Melanin is the primary determinant of human skin color.

It's a private fund just like any other of the hundreds of different college funds there are. Firemen, Policemen, Medical, hell Plumbers have different college funds, and grant set up to help eligible kids continue their education. There is tuition assistance for Koreans, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Samoans, Vietnamese, Canadian, and any other group of people. If you don't meet the criteria for these funds, you don't get them either. UNCF just happens to have a better marketing strategy to try, and get the word out...

Great question!

I don't think it's still necessary. As long as the South and North are in agreement, there is no need for it. I remember trying to apply for scholarships, and none of them applied to me because I'm an Indian female, not a Black or Hispanic male. I think having the United ***** Fund is racist in itself, because it implies that Blacks need assistance to catch up with everyone else, when that clearly isn't the case.

It is reverse discrimination. It is not fair to say people are being discriminated against and then turn around and do something like this... this is a double standard that everyone does not like....It should be abolished like other discrimination issues have been abolished.
