If your Son willingly laid down His life, knowing that He would conquer the grave and free those subjects you were talking about....

yes.

Better analogy:

If you were a perfect king who could not allow your subjects to enter into your kingdom unless they were perfect too, would not the sacrifice of your son - motivated by your love for those subjects - be the most loving act that you could perform? What if the stakes were higher, what if those subjects only had the chance to enter the kingdom for 80 or so years?

In the place outside the kingdom where they lived, they still reaped many of the benefits of being in the presence of the king. then after their eighty years, they were banished to a place of torment - separated fromt the king and all of his benefits - for all of eternity?

would a just ruler not lay down the life of his willing son, to save the billions of people that he also loved?

Sho-Nuff,
If you are referring to the way Christ laid down His life for His subjects, I'm telling you that tht's why He came to earth in the first place, to set the captives free. It was prophecied in the Old Testament. He came down from heaven for that purpose. It's really not difficult to understand. You either believe that He did, or you don't. I don't think that you are that dense to not see that distinction.

Thisn sounds a lil anti God and jesus but I will answer anyway...
Only if by you sacrificing your sons One life saved many. And of course if your Son was willing to sacrifice their own life as well. For this is what happened with Jesus an God. Jesus knew he was sent here to die for our sins and set right what Adam had messed up for us. God didnt want to do it but he knew it had to be done and he did what he had to do as our universal sovreign.

If this is in reference to God "killing" Jesus, then that's not how the story went. First he sent out many many prophets in hopes that people would listen, lastly God sent out his one and only son thinking that because he was his son then perhaps they would listen to him. But people are stubborn and stuck in their ways and so the people murdered Jesus too. Sad

If you're trying to create an analogy with the one true God, then perhaps you should provide more information as to WHY you would be willing to make that decision.

That is a hard question. And it would be an awful decision. Most would say that you were just because you thought of the majority, and not just your kin.

Oh goody, yet another thinly veiled insult aimed at religion. I thought intolerance was the new unforgivable sin these days. Oh well.

this would depend upon the circumstances in which the question would be asked. there isn't enough information to make a rational decision.

Seems like a trick question. I'm glad you're not a king.
